Carnegie Colours 2019

Carnegie Colours 2019 Exhibition

In the spring of 2013, a watercolor class led by artist Charlene Barry concluded.  Charlene did not wish to teach another class, but she and her students wanted to continue painting together.  And so, arrangements were made with the Saint John Arts Centre to have a space where we could come to paint and share ideas. And in the fall of 2013, Carnegie Colours was born.

Since that time we have continued to meet weekly from September through May.  Members have come and gone, but much of the core group remains.

Although we each paint in different media and have different styles and experience levels, we all share a love of painting, especially in the company of other like-minded artists.  We gather to create art, discuss techniques, offer constructive criticism and keep abreast of what is going on in the local art community.  It has been a pleasure to watch each other’s skills and styles evolve.

We welcome you today, to an exhibit of our work.

We are grateful to Andrew Kierstead and the staff of the Saint John Arts Centre for this opportunity to display our paintings in such a fine setting, but more importantly, we thank them for their continued support and encouragement as we look forward to beginning our 6th year together in September.
