Workshop Description
Watercolour painting techniques are explored in this fun and educational workshop with Tara Simmi. While experiencing exciting painting techniques, students learn some basic colour theory and vocabulary, and will look at how watercolour can be used in contemporary illustrations.
Some of the topics covered:
- Washes
- painting on dry paper vs wet
- masking
- using salt
- lifting colour
- adding drawing elements
All materials are provided within the workshop fee, and students should wear an apron or old shirt.

About your Instructor
Tara Simmi (Simmi Obscura) is an abstract, mixed media artist currently residing in Saint John. Her work centres around play, mental wellness and curiosity for life. Her art is eye-catchingly playful with its bright colours and various textures.
