Once again this year, our resident fiber arts group, the Carnegie Rughookers, have generously donated beautiful hand-made ornaments for our tree as a fundraiser! Come visit during gallery hours (Tues-Sat. 9am-5pm) and un-deck our halls – there is something for everyone, with ornaments priced from $3 to $20 for extra big or fancy styles! We also have a ‘bargain basket’ for ornaments from past years that may have been overlooked – baggied 2 for $5 and ready for gifting! Shop early for the biggest selection!
About the Carnegie Rughookers
The Carnegie Rughookers, founded in September 2004, meet every Friday morning from 9:30am to 12:00pm at the Saint John Arts Centre to hook rugs. Visitors are most welcome to drop in and see their works in progress. Members are of all ages, from many backgrounds and interests, and work in a variety of styles and techniques. The Rughookers named their group after Andrew Carnegie, benefactor of the construction of the Saint John Free Public Library, which was built in 1904 and is now the home of SJAC.
