Workshop Description
Learn to create a beautiful fall or winter-themed fibre-based landscape with instructor Margaret Anne Smith. Using two felting techniques (wet-felting and dry or needle-felting), play with colours and textures and create a wall hanging to take home with you. You will learn about various kinds of wool and see how they work in this ancient craft of felt-making! The instructor will provide samples and photos for inspiration, walk you through the wet-felting and needle-felting processes, and give options for framing your finished work.

Duration: 6 hours (1 hr break for lunch)
Fees: Tuition – $65 / Supplies purchased from instructor – $45

Please note: Participants are asked to bring:
- 2 old towels
- a hair dryer
- a pool noodle
- a spray bottle

Artist Biography
Margaret Anne Smith is a teacher, poet, and fibre artist who lives in Saint John. Fascinated by the interplay of colour and texture, she uses wet felting, dry (needle) felting, and hand stitching to make garments, wall-hangings, and small figures. She draws inspiration from living near the shores of the Bay of Fundy, and loves to share her passion by facilitating workshops.
