Studio 65+: Basics of Drawing Faces

Workshop Description

Join drawing instructor Kelly Cunningham as she guides you through the fundamentals of portrait drawing. In addition to learning how to render the proportions of a face, you will also explore materials, value, light and form to create a portrait that represents the subject and conveys a mood. This workshop is designed for beginners, and Kelly will teach you strategies that will inform all of your future drawings.

This fun and informative workshop will erase any fears of the blank white page as you put pencil to paper in a welcoming environment. Supplies are included in the workshop fee.

Fees: $100 tuition plus $25 materials fee: $125

Skill level: Beginner

About your Instructor

Kelly Cunningham is a drawing specialist, having majored in drawing while earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She is a veteran graphic designer with over two decades of experience, and has been the Promotions & Events Coordinator at the Saint John Arts Centre since 2006. Kelly is excited to teach in the Studio 65+ program, working with participants to expand their skills and have fun in a relaxed studio environment!
