Artist Statement

If one of these painting in my HOPE series looks into your soul and asks a very private question, then my attempt to capture a moment on canvas has happened for you.

Artist Biography

George’s little boy daydreams of becoming an artist came to reality after forty years of working on commercial side of art when he stepped into the world of fine art inspired by his sister, Rene Collins. George is Saint John born, but Grand Bay/ Westfield has been his home for the last 40 years. George’s list of accomplishments after 60 years is lengthy and crosses all spectrums  of the art world.

His painting are oils, that have evolved to multi-layered creations, attempting to capture a moment in time – from one-line doodles that are in homes around the world, to a bronze that is competed for on the world stage, to five best-selling books on Whitetail deer here in New Brunswick, and of course his wildlife art.

George Chase’s education in art began with Fred Ross and Ted Campbell, starting a journey of learning that culminated with him becoming the art director for the L M Berry advertising agency. George believes children are our greatest teachers and the masters are our refiners.

His work can be seen at Handworks Gallery at 12 King Street in Saint John, NB.
