Join Margo for a six-week quilting/sewing course and learn the technique of using templates! You can choose between two pattern options for creating a lap quilt. You will also learn how to quilt your finished product.
Skill level: Beginner-Intermediate / Please note: This class is for adult learners only.

Option 1: ‘I Heart You Quilt’
Finished size: 55″ x 61″
Supplies needed (to follow colour palette in photo):
• Half yard (metre) of light pink
• Half yard (metre) of dark pink
• 1 ½ yard (metre) of white
• 2 yards (metres) of background
• ½ yard (metre) of binding fabric
• 3 ½ yard (metre) of backing fabric
• Quilt batting (cotton/poly blend)
• Thread

Option 2: Splendorous Quilt
Finished size: 44″ x 55″
Supplies needed:
• 1/4 yard (0.30m) of 6 different prints
• 3/8 yard (0.4m) of 5 different prints
• 4 yards (metres) of backing fabric
• Quilt batting (cotton/poly blend)
• Thread
There is also the option of bringing a project of your choice, either a sewing or quilting project.
Other items you will need to bring:
• portable sewing machine
• pins/ safety pins
• seam ripper
• shears
• Optional: rotary cutter and mat
* ‘Splendorous’ quilt pattern will be provided.
* ‘I Heart You Quilt’ pattern to be purchased for the first class please.
About the Instructor:
Margo has over thirty-five years of sewing experience and has an Education degree in Home Economics from the University of New Brunswick, Class of 1991. She has taught sewing to middle school students as well as youth and adult sewing courses for the City of Saint John Recreation Department for numerous years.
