Oil Painting for Teens

As of September 22, 2021, some New Brunswick businesses will require Proof of Vaccination to access non-essential services. All of SJAC’s programs (workshops, galleries, performing arts events, rental events) fall under the included categories of services.

All people aged 12 and up will be required to show their record of immunization or medical exemption certificate and a government issued identification to be able to access our programs.

For further details, please see our full policy update by clicking here.

*Please also note that SJAC is maintaining a mandatory community face mask policy until further notice.*

SJAC welcomes new instructor Mary Garoutte! This oil painting class is developed for all skill-levels – whether you’re new to oil paint or already familiar, using the Alla Prima method (or wet-on wet technique), which allows one to develop a painting quickly from start to finish from life or from a photo. Students will have opportunity to explore various subjects through basic foundational art principles (colour, form and composition) through weekly exercises leading to a final finished painting. This is an excellent and fun way to gain technique with an emphasis on self-expression. Students will be invited to bring in photos and/or items of their choice to paint in creating their final painting.
