UPDATE: SJAC is postponing our ‘What’s in the Box?’ fundraiser, based on the Government of NB’s recommendation for all public spaces to close due to the developing situation with the COVID-19 virus.
We’re suspending ticket sales for the moment, but will let you know immediately on our website and social media when it’s safe for us to reschedule. Please note that all ticket holders for the April date don’t need to make any special arrangements, your ticket/online order will be honoured at the door.
Please keep checking our website and social media for updates – take care!
SJAC’s popular fundraiser is back for 2020 to answer the burning question, ‘What’s in the Box?’
When is ‘What’s in the Box?’
(Originally planned for Thursday, April 16, 2020, from 7-9pm – new date TBA), join us for an entertaining evening of delicious food, fine drink, and an opportunity to support your community arts centre! (A $25 tax receipt can be issued for each $75 ticket.)
What actually *is* in the box?
By filling out a ballot (or more than one), you’ll have the unique chance to purchase for $100 a ‘mystery box’ containing an original artwork, which has been generously donated by one of over 50 local professional artists. If yours is not one of the lucky 50 ballots drawn, maybe you’ll see a work you’d like to own in the one-night-only exhibition of works by our donor artists! (Please note that the ballot/chance to be drawn is not part of the event ticket price and is entirely optional. Attendees who choose to take part in the draw commit to buying a the ‘mystery boxes’ of art for $100 each if their ballot(s) is drawn.)
Why support this fundraiser?
Funds from this event support our programs, including our important Artists’ Rights Fees program, to support the artists who share their works in the galleries of SJAC.
(Please note that online ticket purchasers will be added to our guest list at the door, and do not require a a physical ticket.)
