Intro to Video and Film-making

Love creating videos? Are you a movie addict? Are you think about going to school for film? This course is perfect for you!

Join film-maker Michael Mohan for an exciting two-week course in filmmaking. With a small class size of only four participants, this is the perfect way to get one-on-one experience in creating films!

This introductory course teaches the basics of cinematic storytelling which will include formal elements, genre, and narrative structure. You will learn to recognize, analyze, describe and enjoy film as an art and entertainment form. By the end of the course, you will develop the skills to create a short film of their own imagining!

Tuesday-Friday, 9am-3pm (with hour break for lunch) • June 25, 26, 27, 28; July 2, 3, 4, 5, 2019 (8 day course) • Cost: $300

Equipment to bring:

    • Video recording device (Cell phone is encouraged, iphone 5 or higher)
    • Appropriate charging cables for phone or video camera
    • Tripod (if available)

Instructor Biography:
Michael Ryan Mohan is an artist working in film-making and photography. He is a graduate of NSCAD University and is based out of Saint John, New Brunswick. Michael has collaborated with local directors and musicians on film projects, most recently including Bad Noise (2016), Brookside Mall music video for Months (Young Champion EP, 2016), Doopeys, web series (2015-ongoing), Tap Dance (2017) and Scenery 2011 (2017).
