Drawing Basics

Join Amy Ash for a fun and informative overview of Drawing Basics! This class is ideal for beginners who’ve always wanted to try drawing or intermediate students who are eager to hone their skills. It is designed to develop your hand and eye in traditional skills and ideas that have occupied artists throughout history. Each week will cover exercises in with an emphasis on space, volume, linear and free hand perspective, introduction to portraiture, and other basic techniques and concepts. Amy’s class offers individual guidance and on-site demonstrations of techniques. 

Please note that one class may involve drawing from a life drawing model; students under the age of 18 would be required a signed permission form from a parent or guardian.

Supplies: Students should bring to the first class:

  • A sketchbook (ideally 8×10 or larger)
  • Pencils: HB, 2B, 4B, 6B (one of each)
  • A good white eraser
  • A 12inch ruler

Mondays 7-9pm • September 23, 30, October 7, 21, 28, November 4 (6 weeks, Skips Oct. 14, Thanksgiving) • Cost: $90

Age Group: this class is designed for adults and teens 16 and up
