Drawing: Beyond Basics

Join Maggie Higgins for a creatively challenging intermediate-level course in drawing. This class is ideal for students who have already participated in the Drawing Basics course or artists with drawing experience. It is designed to extend your development of the hand and eye beyond traditional skills, and to work on stylistic explorations of personal expression. Each week will cover a mix of short creative exercises and longer studio sessions resulting in fully-realized drawings. Maggie’s class offers individual guidance and on-site demonstrations of techniques.

Please note that class may involve drawing from a life drawing model; students under the age of 18 will require a signed permission form from a parent or guardian.

Wednesdays, 7-9pm • NEW DATES: May 23 – June 27, 2018 (6 weeks) • Cost: $80

Supplies: Students should bring to the first class – a sketchbook (not too small), a sketching pencil set (containing at minimum HB, 2B, 6B pencils) a quality eraser (white vinyl or gum eraser recommended), and a 12″ (30cm) ruler.
