Acrylic Portrait Painting (for teens)

This class is designed for students aged 14-18, and explores a variety of acrylic painting techniques in order to recreate an historical portrait, or an image of their choosing. Students will learn a range of skills as they work in stages to create their portrait, including gridding, glazing, advanced colour blending, and how to choose the right tools to achieve certain effects in their work. A number of images will be provided for students to choose from, however they are welcome to bring in their own – portraits must be clearly visible, with strong shadows, highlights, and colours visible to work from.
