Melissa Kennedy – ‘Reclining Female’

SJAC is thrilled to offer this special week-long life drawing course with classically-trained artist and educator Melissa Kennedy. Combining lecture and hands-on drawing time, students will work from an easel observing a live nude model. From Melissa: “Train in classical methods to to help develop observation skills  and understand the figure, in order to achieve higher accuracy in drawing. Learn how to deconstruct the pose to introduce improved structure, anatomy, gesture, body type, sense of volume, and overall visual impact. The course will introduce various steps of drawing, designed to produce more accurate and realistic results when working from life. As well as tips on how to use a live model to the fullest extent, by discussing ideas such as anatomy, elements of a pose, and line quality.”
